UK company ZeroUSV highlighted its new Oceanus17 “Lady of the Lake”, a 17-meter autonomous surface vessel preparing to participate in NATO’s REPMUS 26 experimentation exercise in Portugal.
The vessel offers:
- 50+ days endurance
- 5,000+ nautical-mile range
- 4,000 kg payload capacity
- 20-foot ISO-compatible payload area
- 30 kW payload power
- MarineAI GuardianAI Level-4 autonomous navigation
The platform is intended for missions including ISR, maritime security, ASW, mine countermeasures, surveying and autonomous logistics.
Why it matters: Oceanus17 demonstrates the accelerating European shift toward larger, persistent, modular USVsrather than small experimental drone boats. NATO exercises such as REPMUS are increasingly functioning as operational proving grounds for technologies that could move quickly into acquisition programs.
