A Chinese company, Xpeng AeroHT, revealed the Land Aircraft Carrier at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The vehicle, inspired by lunar rovers, includes a helicopter-like eVTOL aircraft that stows in the boot and can be deployed with a single click. The electric vehicle is priced between $200,000 and $300,000, has 3,000 orders, and will initially be available in China. It aims to appeal to thrill-seekers and professionals in emergency services. The aircraft folds its rotors to fit in the car’s boot and can be operated with single-stick control, simplifying the learning process. It can drive to take-off sites and manage both driving and flying duties. Although unlikely to be certified in the West soon, the Land Aircraft Carrier represents a new consumer product in the flying car market. Xpeng AeroHT is Asia’s largest flying car company, with plans to expand to the Middle East next.
