Uber Eats Launches Autonomous Delivery Robots

In Austin, Dallas, Jersey City, and parts of Ohio, compact four-wheeled robots developed with Avride now deliver Uber Eats orders. Capable of carrying 55 lb payloads, equipped with LiDAR, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors, they travel at ~5 mph on sidewalks, unlocking via the app, with 12 hr battery life—and Uber plans to expand hundreds more by end 2025.
