Uber and Starship roll out delivery robots in the UK

Uber is launching autonomous robots in Leeds and Sheffield this December — through a partnership with Starship Technologies. The robots will operate at Level 4 autonomy, meaning no human driver needed, to deliver food and groceries under the Uber Eats brand. This marks a major step in bringing robot delivery into urban neighborhoods, with plans to expand across Europe in 2026 and the U.S. by 2027.
