U.S. Navy’s Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program

The Navy has awarded contracts to major contractors (Anduril, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, and others) to develop carrier-capable Collaborative Combat Aircraft—uncrewed systems intended to fly from carriers and work alongside manned aircraft.

  • These CCAs are expected to act as “force multipliers” and reduce risk to personnel.
  • Importance: autonomy, integration with existing fleets, launch/recovery from naval platforms, and resilience in contested environments are central.
