U.S. Air Force tested both CCA prototypes in an operational environment

The Air Force disclosed that its Collaborative Combat Aircraft Experimental Operations Unit operated the General Atomics YFQ-42A Dark Merlin and Anduril YFQ-44A Fury during an Agile Combat Employment exercise at Creech AFB. The event included multiple sorties, crewed–uncrewed integration, rapid servicing and refueling, dispersed operations and inert AIM-120 loading.

Industry significance: The CCA program is shifting from basic flight testing toward validating logistics, tactics and human-machine teaming. That transition materially reduces program risk ahead of future production and fielding decisions.
