The aerospace industry is digesting Boeing’s decision to transfer Wisk, Insitu and SkyGrid to Archer Aviation

Although announced August 10, the transaction is one of today’s dominant aerospace stories. Archer will acquire Wisk Aero, Insitu and SkyGrid, while Boeing takes a 19.75% stake in Archer, a board seat and maintains access to Wisk’s autonomous-flight technology.
The significance is unusually large: Wisk brings autonomous eVTOL technology, Insitu brings deployed military UAS and more than $200 million in annual revenue, and SkyGrid contributes automated airspace-management software. Together, those businesses have nearly 2 million flight hours.
