Japanese eVTOL manufacturer SkyDrive announced today that former Airbus Japan President Stéphane Ginoux has joined the company as an advisor, effective August 1.
It isn’t a financing round, but it is an important commercialization signal. SkyDrive has previously raised significant private capital, including ¥8.3B in pre-Series D financing, and Ginoux brings experience connecting aerospace products with airline and institutional customers.
PE/VC takeaway: Late-stage AAM companies are increasingly entering a phase where certification, industrialization, customer acquisition and capital structure matter more than prototype development. Experienced aerospace executives entering these companies can therefore be meaningful pre-IPO/M&A indicators.
