Shield AI, Sedaro and NOVI Space announced today that Shield AI’s Hivemind AI pilot successfully operated aboard a NOVI satellite in low Earth orbit. Hivemind coordinated an actual satellite with five simulated spacecraft and optimized imaging tasks, spacecraft health, battery state and pointing decisions.
Investor takeaway: Although this isn’t a financing event, it significantly expands Shield AI’s addressable market. Hivemind is increasingly looking like an autonomy operating layer independent of platform type—aircraft, drones and potentially spacecraft.
