On December 3, 2025, Shield AI and Sedaro revealed a collaboration to adapt Shield’s autonomy stack (Hivemind Pilot) for on-orbit spacecraft. Sedaro’s simulation platform will serve as the primary environment for developing, testing, and demonstrating autonomous behaviors in space-related missions.
The goal: enable satellites and constellations to carry out proximity operations, swarm coordination, defensive counter-space maneuvers, and real-time decision-making — especially useful when communication links are constrained or contested.
Shield AI’s move into space autonomy marks a strategic expansion of their proven AI-driven autonomy (previously applied to drones and maritime systems) into the orbital domain.
