Under the new contract from DARPA (the “Albatross” program), PhysicsAI will develop AI agents that allow UAVs to mimic bird-like soaring behavior: detecting wind, planning trajectories, and harvesting energy from the atmosphere to extend flight endurance.
If successful, this could dramatically extend range and loiter time for uncrewed platforms — a big advantage for long-duration ISR, surveillance or persistent logistics missions.
