Oman selected as major advanced air mobility (AAM) test-hub for hybrid-eVTOL operations

Oman is set to host a large scale AAM evaluation via the Odys Aviation “Laila” hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft under its Operational Launch Programme (OLP).

Why it matters:

  • Brings together geography/terrain/regulatory/infrastructure factors for AAM (your infrastructure & deployment focus).
  • The aircraft has ~725 km range and hybrid-electric propulsion (“beyond short hops”) which aligns with longer-range autonomous platform use-cases.
  • Good for your newsletter’s “urban air mobility & autonomous platform for agriculture/scientific” cross-domain story (e.g., varied terrain, hybrid propulsion, testbeds).
