Northrop Grumman Invests $50M in Firefly Aerospace

Northrop Grumman has invested $50 million in Firefly Aerospace to support the development of their collaborative rocket project, “Eclipse.” This medium-lift launch vehicle combines elements from Northrop’s Antares and Firefly’s Alpha rockets and is scheduled for its first launch from Wallops Island, Virginia, potentially in 2026. Eclipse is designed to carry out various missions including space station resupply, commercial satellite launches, national security operations, and scientific research payloads.
