On October 16, 2025, the Netherlands signed a Letter of Intent with the U.S. to participate in the U.S. Air Force’s CCA program with “total access” rights.
The agreement allows Netherlands to contribute requirements, co-develop systems, and potentially procure variants suited to European theaters.
Dutch State Secretary for Defense Gijs Tuinman highlighted that the pact opens doors to at least 1,000+ joint CCA deployments in future.
Why it matters:
This is a clear step in transatlantic interoperability in autonomous air systems.
It ensures the Netherlands and its defense industry become part of a broader drone-wingman supply chain and doctrine.
The “total access” phrasing suggests more than mere acquisition — genuine co-design and integration at the system level.
