LIG Nex1 & Shield AI Celebrate New Missile-Drone Integration at UMEX 2026

At the UMEX 2026 defense exhibition in Abu Dhabi, LIG Nex1 and Shield AI held a ceremonial event marking their contract to integrate LIG’s multi-purpose drone-launched guided missile (L-MDM) onto Shield AI’s VTOL V-BAT unmanned aircraft. The lightweight, laser-guided L-MDM is designed for precision strikes from a range of unmanned platforms, enhancing flexibility and survivability for operators. Senior leaders from both companies attended, reinforcing their ongoing strategic collaboration to compete in the expanding global unmanned aircraft and weapons systems market. This event builds on a Memorandum of Understanding they signed in May 2025 to cooperate on manned-unmanned teaming and autonomous operations.
