Deepinder Goyal’s venture LAT Aerospace — an Indian aerospace startup originally focused on regional aviation platforms — has acquired defense robotics startup Sharang Shakti to bring autonomy, perception, sensing, navigation, and control technologies in-house. This marks LAT’s first concrete step toward building its own autonomy stack for both civil and defence aircraft, rather than outsourcing or partnering externally.
- Significance: This is a rare example of aerospace startup consolidation where autonomy capability is being brought into platform development at an early stage — a key trend for deep-tech aerospace entrants.
