Kraken has been awarded an Other Transaction Authority (OTA) agreement by United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) with a ceiling value of USD 49 million.
The purpose of the OTA: to rapidly prototype next-generation uncrewed surface and sub-surface vessel technologies designed for U.S. special operations missions. These systems will emphasise features like autonomous navigation, stealthy hull design, modular mission payloads (for ISR, logistics, precision engagement) and use advanced materials.
This is a trans-Atlantic win for the UK firm (KTG is UK-based, Fareham UK) and bolsters its presence in the U.S. defence-innovation ecosystem.
Kraken’s CEO described the award as a “validation of our technology roadmap,” citing increasing demand for agile, survivable uncrewed maritime platforms in contested waters.
