Lockheed Martin is investing $50 million in Saildrone to equip its USVs (unmanned surface vehicles) with “all-domain” defense technology, including lethal payloads.
The first integration will be Lockheed’s JAGM Quad Launcher on the Saildrone Surveyor platform, with live-fire, on-water demonstrations planned in 2026.
Saildrone is also developing larger USV hulls to support heavier systems, like the Mk 70 vertical launcher and sonar arrays, expanding its role into strike, surveillance, and anti-submarine warfare.
