Interlune and industrial-equipment manufacturer Vermeer expanded their strategic partnership to develop autonomous excavation, mobility and site-preparation equipment for future lunar bases. The companies are targeting a mission-ready lunar site-preparation tool by 2028, followed by demonstrations on Earth and the Moon. Their earlier joint-development agreement produced a full-scale lunar excavator prototype.
