ESA-linked autonomous manufacturing milestone

The AIMIS-LFAM project, led by Caracol and funded by the European Space Agency, has developed an AI-driven monitoring and control system for large-format robotic additive manufacturing in orbit. This architecture enhances autonomous 3D printing of structural components — a key step toward in-orbit fabrication of large platforms like solar arrays and trusses without continuous ground control.
