Delta Air Lines is advancing plans to incorporate air taxis into its services in the coming years. At CES 2025, Delta CEO Ed Bastian discussed the airline’s collaboration with Joby Aviation, which is developing all-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This partnership aims to offer home-to-airport air taxi services, potentially reducing travel times significantly. For instance, a journey from Westchester County to JFK Airport could be reduced from two hours by car to approximately 15 minutes by air taxi. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) supports this initiative, recognizing its potential to alleviate ground congestion.
