Space communications and defense tech firm CesiumAstro closed a $470 million Series C funding round to accelerate U.S. expansion and scale production of its software-defined, AI-enabled space communication platforms. The raise combines $270 million in equity led by Trousdale Ventures with a $200 million public-private financing packagebacked by the Export-Import Bank of the United States and J.P. Morgan — a first-of-its-kind deal under the “Make More In America” initiative. The capital will fund a new 270,000-square-foot headquarters near Austin, expanded manufacturing capacity, and faster deployment of its satellite and ground systems worldwide. This latest round underscores strong investor confidence in the company’s modular, resilient communications tech for both commercial and national security missions.
