BETA unveils autonomous MV250 military logistics aircraft

BETA Technologies introduced the MV250, an autonomous hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft developed with GE Aerospaceand Sikorsky. GE is supplying the hybrid-electric propulsion system, while Sikorsky will integrate its MATRIX autonomy suite.

BETA says the aircraft could participate in military exercises in 2027 and potentially enter production in 2028. The platform is intended for contested logistics, casualty evacuation, ISR and other missions requiring runway-independent operations.

Why it matters: This pairs BETA’s commercial aircraft architecture with established aerospace suppliers, potentially reducing technical and customer-adoption risk. It also strengthens the investment thesis that military applications can provide earlier revenue for advanced-air-mobility companies.
