Baltic Sea Munitions Recovery

In northern Germany’s Bay of Lübeck, specialized teams have initiated a large-scale project to retrieve World War II-era munitions from the seafloor using underwater vehicles. Funded with €100 million by the German government, this effort aims to mitigate environmental hazards caused by rusting explosives seeping toxins into the marine ecosystem.
