Powerus, an autonomous drone and counter-UAS defense company, announced today that it has begun manufacturing its Guardian counter-UAS interceptor in the Gulf through a multi-year regional manufacturing partnership. Its planned business combination with Aureus Greenway Holdings has already cleared an important SEC registration milestone and is expected to close in Q4 2026.
The commercialization story strengthened further after Powerus disclosed a $22.3 million Middle East contract on August 21 covering counter-UAS detection, tracking, classification, command-and-control and maintenance for critical energy infrastructure.
Investor takeaway: Powerus is worth watching as a test case for whether emerging autonomous-defense companies can transition from VC/private funding to public-market capital while simultaneously establishing overseas production and recurring commercial defense revenue.
