Archerfield Airport in Brisbane to Serve as Hub for Self-Flying Air Taxis

Archerfield Airport in Brisbane has entered into a Strategic Alliance Agreement with Wisk Aero, a Boeing-owned company, to establish the region as a hub for Advanced Air Mobility, focusing on self-flying air taxis. This initiative aims to provide emissions-free transport, alleviate road traffic, and ensure efficient transfers in South-East Queensland, with operations anticipated to commence by the time of the Brisbane 2032 Olympics and Paralympics. The partnership plans to develop necessary infrastructure, including vertiports for maintenance, charging, and other services, to integrate autonomous air taxis into the region’s airspace.
