Anduril to Build Autonomous Surface Vessels with HD Hyundai

What happened: Anduril is partnering with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries to build prototypes of autonomous surface vessels (ASVs). The first will be built in Korea, with future production in the U.S. at Anduril’s former Foss Shipyard in Seattle.

Why it matters: Anduril is positioning itself to compete in the U.S. Navy’s MASC (Modular Attack Surface Craft)program.

Strategic insight: This expands Anduril beyond aerial autonomy into maritime autonomy, and signals long-term ambitions to scale production of autonomous vessels.
